Derek Hearsey

My career in commercial aviation commenced in 1970 with Trans Mediterranean Airways at Heathrow. Subsequently moving to the Air Courier and European transportation sector as Manager of Sales & Marketing, I was actively involved with airlines and freight forwarders in major UK & European airports.

Becoming a week-end volunteer with Gatwick TravelCare in November 2000, I retired from full-time employment in 2005 to take up a part-time role with GTC as Duty Advisor, becoming manager in 2012.

Married with two sons and five grandchildren, I live in West Chiltington. My off-duty interests include music, travel and walking my Border Terrier!
